Microsoft is shutting down Windows Live Expo, its online classifieds venture, reports Reuters.
The Live Expo site features a note saying new accounts and listings will no longer be accepted. It will fully shut down on July 31st.
Microsoft launched the service in February of 2006 as a competitor to other online classifieds services, chiefly craigslist. People could list events or items for sale, as well as restrict their listings to trusted contacts.
Microsoft gave no reason for shuttering the Live Expo service, other than to say the company wanted to focus on other online priorities.
Last month it announced plans to shut down Live Search Books and Live Search Academic. In April, it also said it would stop issuing DRM license keys for songs bought on MSN Music, which was shut down in late 2006.
