Microsoft is in the process of acquiring Openwave Systems' Musiwave, a mobile music and entertainment service.
The deal empowers Microsoft's Connected Entertainment technologies, like Windows Mobile, Zune, MSN and Windows Live, to benefit from Musiwave's partnerships with music labels, handset makers and mobile operators, reports Mashable.
Headquartered in Paris, Musiwave assists European carriers in selling ringtones, song downloads, and music videos.
No financial terms were disclosed.
