Microsoft Silverlight Partners with Move on Video Streaming

Gather partners

Move Networks said its Move Media Player, which powers online video-streaming for ABC, ESPN, Discovery, and Fox, will soon be integrated into Silverlight, its video and graphics plug-in for the web.

The partnership between Move and Microsoft is being announced at the annual MIX08 Conference in Las Vegas, reports ContentAgenda.

Silverlight will be able to integrate Move's encoding technology into the publishing tools Microsoft sells to content companies, and the software on the user end.

When users download Silverlight, they will also download the Move plug-in. Currently, there are about 30 million Move plug-ins in the marketplace today. The Microsoft partnership should expand that number significantly.
