Microsoft announced it's acquired AdECN, an online ad buying and selling platform that borrows its model from the stock market, reports CNN Money.
Members of the firm can buy and sell ad space. "Seats" on the exchange are sold much like they are on actual stock market floors. Other companies like the ADSDAQ are trying a similarly Wall Street-inspired model, hailed by some to be the ad-picking preference of the future.
AdECN has been around since 2005. The price of the purchase has not been disclosed.
