Internet Explorer 8 now reflects instant answers from Live Search in its search box, Microsoft announced.
Those using IE8 in the United States will have the Live Search feature on by default, reports Search Engine Land.
Queries related to finances, weather, movie show times, calculations, equations, conversions, and definitions will automatically display an "answer" in the search box.
For example, a search for "weather" will display the icon, current temperature, and predicted highs and lows from Foreca:
Other features include a scoping bar on atop the results page, which stores users' search history so a subsequent search can be executed in the context of the first.
A "related searches" feature on the right side uses an algorithm that takes into consideration the queries and results of others who have performed the same search.
