Microsoft Overdoes adCenter Refunds

Following on the heels of a glitch in its adCenter platform that drastically overcharged some advertisers, it seems that Microsoft's efforts to correct the error went too far in the other direction, SEO Round Table reports.

The glitch in adCenter caused cost-per-click rates to skyrocket, with some advertisers being charged thousands of dollars for a single click. Microsoft recognized the mistake and said it would credit the effected accounts. But instead of crediting just for the incorrect amounts, credit was issued for all clicks, including the unaffected ones.

Some campaign managers say they were then re-charged for the udue credit they received.

According to one commenter on a WebmasterWorld thread, Microsoft says it now has things balanced out and all affected managers should see the correct credits and charges on their accounts.
