Microsoft Makes $300M on Halo 3's First Week of Sale

Halo's Master Chief

It's been a good week for Microsoft's gaming sector. The software giant pulled in $300 million since launching Halo 3 for the Xbox 360 on September 25.

The game has doubled sales of the company's Xbox 360 console for the week, according to Reuters. In its first 24 hours on sale, Halo 3 did a brisk $170 million in sales, probably fueled by the game reserving policy, where hardcore gamers finally receive the games they've put on hold since before the launch.

Thus far, Microsoft has sold over 20 million copies of the popular Halo franchise.
