Microsoft Fixes Bug that Overcharged for Online Ads

A problem with Microsoft's adCenter service resulting in significant overcharging of advertisers has been fixed by the company reports the Associated Press.

The glitch caused the cost-per-click rates to skyrocket for some advertisers, from just a few dollars to hundreds or thousands of dollars in some instances. One advertiser reported seeing his CPC rate go from the $0.19 he had bought one set of keywords for to $581.31. Another advertiser reported being charged $900 for just one click.

Microsoft has corrected the problem that caused the accounts to be overcharged and will credit those accounts.
