Microsoft and financial information service Edgar Online have signed a mutually beneficial ad and content deal.
Edgar Online shall become the sole provider of Securities and Exchange Commission filings and other information to MSN Money. It replaces Thompson Financial, which previously sent such data to the Microsoft-owned portal.
Microsoft will begin selling advertising on Edgar's site, including banner, text and video units.
Adding Edgar Online to its network gives Microsoft a fresh in on the financial news and information market. Microsoft also sells ads on CNBC.com.
Last month, it launched an online affiliate program.
