Database marketing firm Merkle has purchased CognitiveDATA, a Little Rock-based marketing technology firm that serves the retail, insurance, nonprofit and financial services sectors.
CognitiveDATA's MO is to quality-check mail files and eliminate waste in direct mail programs. Per the agreement, it will continue to operate as a separate brand.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. But by 2008's end, CognitiveDATA earned $19 million in revenue and was recognized in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500.
Prior to the acquisition, Merkle and CognitiveDATA worked in tandem on business-to-consumer initiatives for clients like GEICO, DirecTV and the Arthritis Foundation.
