Magazine publisher Meredith Corp. has launched Better.tv with original video content pulled from the pages of its print titles, reports PROMO Magazine.
Those videos are arranged into channels by subject matter. Ads on the site are being sold by Meredith's sales team as part of a bundled, cross-media package. Sales have been slow, since the site had not yet gone live and there was little to show potential buyers.
Videos that originate on the site could eventually be repurposed for broadcast on Meredith-owned TV stations.
The publisher is also planning an overhaul of the Better Homes & Gardens website that will include more interactive features, the better to draw the attention of younger women.
