AdWeek: MDC Buys Stake in Canadian I-Shop
The omnivorious Toronto-based ad agency holding company MDC bought Henderson Bas, a 40-person agency better known under its recent name Ninedots. Last month the agency - completely understandably - changed its name due to what it said was a "copyright conflict" in Canada.
MDC recently bought stakes in Cliff Freeman, Kirshenbaum Bond, and has had for some time a piece of Crispin Porter & Bogusky, making it an unusual collection for a conglomerate in that most of these shops are known for providing good creative.
