McD's Employees Encouraged to Pen Burger Blogs

That seductive, sesami-
speckled muse

To sustain strong sales and encourage communication between far-flung workers, McDonald's has launched an internal blog called Station M, MediaBuyerPlanner reports.

The site allows the employees of its 15,000 US and Canadian stores to discuss new products and various burger-related issues.

Content is provided in English, Spanish and French.

The blog was created after an evaluation process deemed it the best system for two-way communications.

Same-store sales for McDonald's rose 8.3 percent in February over last year, with worldwide sales up 11.7 percent.

The chain attributed its growth to breakfast, coffee and value offerings, wrote Brandweek.

To better compete with the threat McDonald's poses to its marketshare, last week Starbucks announced the development of a loyalty program.
