South Korean online game company Webzen and Microsoft's newly acquired Massive in-game advertising unit have struck a deal to place promotions in two of Webzen's upcoming massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) titles, reports Reuters. The ad deal marks Massive's entry into the Asian market and is a first for Webzen.
Games included in the deal are "Huxley," to be released next year, and "All Points Bulletin," due in 2008; both are set in virtual urban environments.
Massive's technology allows advertisers to run their online campaigns in specific geographic areas and for specific periods of time, rather than buying a permanent spot that is hardcoded into the game software.
