Marketo, the cloud-based marketing automation software provider, has unveiled Marketo LaunchPoint, which it is calling the most complete ecosystem of marketing solutions available, and a "powerful and complete hub for marketing professionals." The idea is to "[give] businesses the ability to select best-of-breed software applications from the top of the funnel down," as ecosystem partner Leads360 describes in a release.
What exactly is an "ecosystem?" As Marketo describes it, LaunchPoint brings more than 65 best-of-breed marketing solutions under one umbrella, including solutions for online ads; events and webinars; content marketing; conversion; lead-data enrichment; social media; sales tools; analytics and Big Data; lifecycle marketing; and services solution.
"We've completely re-thought the idea of what a marketing ecosystem is and how it can successfully serve these demands," said Robin Bordoli, VP partner ecosystem at Marketo. "Marketers now have one complete place to discover, learn, and try the most trusted solutions they need to drive revenue."
And no, they don't appear to be just blowing smoke, either. Among the partners are AdRoll, DemandBase, Unbounce and Brainshark (see below for a more complete list). And the business media is abuzz with press releases from practically all of those partners.
Marketo LaunchPoint is one of the five "pillars" of Marketo's recently announced Marketing Nation, a sort of cross-channel user group. 2,000 Marketo customers and 21,000 users can, ostensibly, pool their knowledge to help one other find and use the best marketing solutions (see graphic). One of the pillars is integrated solutions (LaunchPoint). The others include 1) best practices, shared through a common library of pre-built programs; 2) knowledge and ideas, shared through online communities and blogs; 3) consultants and experts, another “ecosystem” of 100+ Marketo partners worldwide; and 4) community, comprised of user groups in 26 cities and a "rocking annual User Summit."
