Search Trends After Spotting an Ad for a Product
More than three-quarters of respondents to Performics' 2010 Search Engine Results Page Insights Study reported conducting a search to learn more about a product or service after seeing an ad elsewhere. Searchers are also tenacious, the study found - if at first they don't succeed, they will modify their search and try again (89%), try a different search engine (89%), and go through multiple search results pages if necessary (79%).
Tablets, eReaders Have Widespread Consumer Appeal
Some 13% of consumers surveyed by the Harrison Group and Zinio say they are interested in buying a tablet device - which could translate into potential sales of 13.5 to 15 million units. The survey also found that that a majority (58%) of tablet and eReader owners who read digital content are reading "more digital content than I ever thought I would." And 33% acknowledge that they are spending more money on buying things to read.
Facebook Snares Second Spot in US Online Video Rankings
Facebook moved past Yahoo to become the site with the second-highest number of US online video views in August 2010, according to comScore VideoMetrix data.It jumped one position to capture the number two spot with 58.6 million viewers, for a total of 243 million viewing sessions. This means about 33% of 177.6 million total US online video consumers in August 2010 watched at least one online video on Facebook.
