Social Media Still Not a Full-Time Job
Only 9% of surveyed organizations have full-time positions dedicated to managing social media responsibilities, while 90% include those as part of someone's overall responsibilities, according to a survey by King Fish Media, HubSpot and Junta42. At the same time 85% of survey respondents say that original content is critical to the success of their social media campaign and that branded original and expert content is used more often than any other type of content.
Moms of Tweens: More 'In-Tune' Than You Think
Mothers of pre-teens are social media savvy, with 48.2% of those surveyed regularly using Facebook, compared to 39.9% of other adults. The survey, conducted by BIGresearch, also found that more moms with tweens read blogs than the average adult.
Facebook Gains Video Viewers
In June Facebook.com jumped from fourth place to third with 46.57 million unique viewers, according to comScore Video Metrix data, narrowly beating Microsoft Sites, which had 45.56 million unique viewers for the month. Vevo, which was ranked third place in viewership in June 2010, dropped to fifth place with 43.91 million unique viewers. Meanwhile, Google Sites, driven primarily by video viewing at YouTube.com, once again ranked as the top online video content property with 143.2 million unique viewers, followed by Yahoo Sites with 55.1 million viewers.
