Coupons.com Surpasses $1B in Savings for 2010
Coupons.com reports a 57% growth for the first nine months of the year, compared to the same period the year before. The company also announced that it has surpassed the $1-billion mark for printed savings for the year. It is the first time in a calendar year that a billion dollars in printed coupon savings was surpassed on the site and its digital coupon network.
Top Coupon Categories
For the first 9 months of 2010, Ready to Eat Cereal was the most popular category for digital coupons. Yogurt and Refrigerated Dough took the No. 2 and 3 positions. Portable Snacks and Nutritional Snacks took the No. 4 and 8 positions. Vegetables, Baby Needs, Soup, Lunch Meats ranked No. 5, 6, 7 and 9. Cheese rounded out the Top Ten.
SocNet Viewing Most Increased Online Activity
About one-third (34%) of online US adults say they have increased their viewing of friends’ photos and information on social networks either significantly or somewhat in the past year, according to results of a new Harris Poll. This was the highest percentage combined response for increasing any of the eight activities presented to respondents in the survey, where multiple answers were accepted. Reading newspapers/current events followed at a distant second with a combined 26%.
