Desktop search and meta search firm Copernic agreed to be purchased by Canadian firm Mamma.com, according to ClickZ, pending shareholder approval. Terms weren't disclosed. Copernic introduced its Desktop Search (CDS) application in September, putting it in competition with search giant Google, a bevy of smaller competitors and very probably the other major search players in the next few months. Mamma.com reports that more than 30 million people have downloaded Copernic Agent in the past three months.
