Lycos Flogs User Data Deals to Direct Marketers

Revolution: Lycos offers new opportunity for member data capture

Lycos Europe is selling its users' personal data of its members, where members give permission in exchange for an offer. Direct marketers are being allowed to proposition registered Lycos users with an offer in exchange for personal information - already filled out by the Lycos site - and permission to approach the users later with still more offers. The service, called Fast.Leads is sold by Lycos on a cost per lead basis.
