Lycos Dumps Yahoo's Inktomi for Ask Jeeves Engine

Reuters reported that major search engine brand Lycos dropped Yahoo's Inktomi search technology in favor of that from Ask Jeeves. Lycos, recently acquired by South Korean firm Daum Communications, had already been using Ask Jeeves technology on some of its other sites. One executive said they switched in part because Ask Jeeves gave Lycos "the ability to differentiate our products later this year."
