Lulu Sues Hulu; Headline Writers Rejoice

Streaming music service Lulu has sued yet-to-debut video portal Hulu, claiming its name can cause consumer confusion, reports TechCrunch.

NBC/News Corp's decision to name their long-gestating video portal Hulu, Lulu says, is an intentional effort to confuse the marketplace. In addition to that, many items mentioned in Hulu's trademark filing match products and services currently offered by Lulu.

As some have noted, Hulu translates in Swahili to "cease" and "desist," a translation the site is now living up to.
