LowerMyBills.com Obtains Judgment in Second Online Advertising Copyright Suit

Online mortgage lead generator LowerMyBills.com, an Experian company, said it has obtained a court judgment against SPENDonLIFE.com in a copyright infringement lawsuit against the company. The judgment is the second obtained by LowerMyBills.com with regard to copyright infringement since January. LowerMyBills.com is a Top 5 internet advertiser and is top-ranked among financial advertisers.

LowerMyBills.com filed suit against One Technologies LP, doing business as SPENDonLIFE.com, on Jan. 18 for copyright infringement, claiming that SPENDonLIFE.com copied multiple LowerMyBills.com online banner advertisements to generate interest in its services and drive traffic to its website.

"To our knowledge, we are the only online advertiser to obtain court judgments in two separate copyright infringement lawsuits involving internet advertisements," said Matt Coffin, president and founder of LowerMyBills.com.

The complaint against SPENDonLIFE.com was filed by LowerMyBills.com in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. LowerMyBills.com said it is pursuing other infringement-related lawsuits to protect its intellectual property.
