Lookery, Oridian Partner for Facebook Apps Ad Network

Social network marketer Lookery has partnered with ad network Oridian to launch a display ad network for Facebook applications. Lookery will act as a link between publishers and Oridian's ad base.

Depending on the nature of the app, banners run across the top of application pages and will be hosted by the app publisher, not Facebook, according to ClickZ.

App publishers aboard include WaterCoolerInc, a creator of sitcom-based apps like "Addicted to Sex and the City."

The new network allows advertisers to reach niche markets. For example, a sports brand can reach fans via a specific sports-related app.

According to Adanomics, more than 9,000 Facebook apps have been installed over 600 million times.

Oridian will compete with VideoEgg, which serves ads on Facebook apps.
