Local Media to Make Do with National Advertisers

ClickZ: Study: Mostly National Advertisers Will Buy Local Ads

Jupiter predicts that all the new and interesting local advertising opportunities popping up online will be largely used by national advertisers, as it will take at least three to five years for regional firms to get comfortable with the new media. The research firm still predicts rapid growth ($2.4 billion this year from $1.9 billion last year), but guesses that this growth will come from national advertisers with networks of many locations. That growth is just about tracking with the growth of other online media.
