ABC gets in-your-face
on mobile platform
Video on the websites of stations owned and operated by ABC will begin offering free, ad-supported video for mobile users, reports MediaPost.
The move was made to meet growing consumer demand for mobile video and stake out a position with advertisers. ABC is clearly disinclined to be left sucking the exhaust of competitors, like they were when time came to build a Web presence, some surmise. And since it has a natural edge in video production, stations and owners are looking to take advantage.
The free, ad-supported mobile video will be available from all ten of the stations ABC owns. That includes top markets, as well as smaller stations in Fresno, Flint and Toledo.
