LG, Billboard Make an Essay of Critics in Critic-Courting Essay Contest

Cellphone company LG and music magazine Billboard are partnering on a promotion to send 30 people to concerts across the country, reports The New York Times.

The Mobile Beat contest will first solicit essays from those interested in competing. From that pool roughly 30 people will be chosen to attend concerts in the part of the country they hail from. They'll then post reviews and other entries on blogs hosted on the Billboard.com site. Readers will then choose the three finalists and then the final winner.

All participants will be given an LG phone to use and review as part of the promotion.
