A recent Future Now study, the 2003 Study for Customer Focused Excellence, used a panel of "mystery shoppers" to determine Land's End to be tops in meeting customers' needs.
The study measured web retailers on 42 data points, from product description to use of photos to the shopping cart procedure. E-commerce giant Amazon placed second on the list because the panel determined Amazon's site search and categorization to be confusing. If and when remedied, Future Now says Amazon will be a "deadly threat" to all online retailers.
