aQuantive has promoted Clark Kokich to worldwide president of its Avenue A/Razorfish agency, which is planning an international expansion, reports Adweek. Kokich, 53, headed the west division of Avenue A/Razorfish; he will now oversee the agency's three regional units, plans for expansion, and develop best practices to be used in all regions. Kokich, 53, joined aQuantive's Avenue A in 1999. He was formerly CEO of clothing retailer Calla Bay.
Jeff Lanctot, vice-president of media at Avenue A/Razorfish, credits Kokich for championing investments in technology infrastructure and data analysis during lean times in 2001 to 2003, in anticipation of online taking off, and culminating in the $160 million purchase of creative shop Razorfish in July 2004.
In the first two quarters of this year, Avenue A/Razorfish's revenues were $87.4 million, up from $22.7 million a year earlier, and its net income was $22.7 million, up from $6.8 million. Taking into account aQuantive's ad-serving and performance media units, the company anticipates nearly $300 million in revenue this year.
