Keyword-Targeted Display Ads Go Live on Kayak

Kayak.com, a discount travel search site, launched display advertising for the Kayak Publishers Network.

Advertisers may target users by their search criteria: date of travel, location and destination, and interest in hotels or vehicles. Users can also switch the ad units off by pushing the "hide display ad" option accompanying each one.

SideStep.com powers the display ad technology. Kayak bought SideStep late last year.

Kayak serves nearly 200 million ad impressions a month. That figure includes ads served on its affiliate sites.

The ad display announcement runs parallel to the arrival of Kayak's new VP of sales, Kristina Davis. Before Kayak, Davis spent nine years at TravelZoo.com.
