Kanoodle Joins Self-Serve Ad Club

ClickZ: Kanoodle Unveils Self-Service Ad Tool

Kanoodle joined the club of sites with self-service advertising tools, allowing advertisers to jump into media auctions without sullying themselves by having to have contact with an ad rep. The new BrightAds system lets publishers participate by offering their own inventory in the Kanoodle network (for a 50-50 split of revenues). Kanoodle categorizes sites wholesale, rather than letting an algorithm choose ads for each page. Separately, blogger Susan Mernit reports that rumors are making rounds in New York that Kanoodle is being sold, perhaps to a consortium of traditional firms.
