Kajeet Chat Factory Targets Virtual Tweens

Pay-as-you-go mobile service provider Kajeet has landed in Whyville, a virtual world geared toward tweens, according to MediaPost. Instead of creating an event or a well-designed but understaffed virtual shop, the company is getting directly involved in citizen engagement.

In the Kajeet Chat Factory tweens can use clams, the virtual world currency, to purchase and design chat bubbles. Personalized chat bubbles set one avatar apart from others. Chatting is Whyville's most popular feature.
Whyville reportedly has 2 million "citizens" aged 8 to 15.
