Jupitermedia's JupiterWeb online publishing division has launched ClickLink, a cost-per-click advertising program that delivers contextual targeting - by topic area rather than keywords (via BtoB Online). ClickLink is initially available to technology marketers of storage, security, networking and software development products and services. Topic areas will be expanded in the next several months, the company said.
"ClickLink adds a level of targeting not found in search marketing by delivering clicks exclusively from JupiterWeb's audience of IT and development professionals, 83 percent of whom are involved in purchasing decisions," said Alan M. Meckler, chairman and CEO of Jupitermedia, in a statement. "By embedding offers in highly targeted and contextually relevant content areas, ClickLink ensures high click-through and conversion rates."
For example, "instead of guessing the 25 keywords that may be relevant to Storage Servers, your ad will run on all seven sites within JupiterWeb's networks featuring storage-related content, including the highly valued anchor site EnterpriseStorageForum.com. ClickLink aligns your message in context, in topic areas of JupiterWeb that are most relevant to your business," according to an FAQ on the ClickLink page.
ClickLink is the latest addition to JupiterWeb "Guaranteed Effective Marketing Solutions" (GEMS), which provide guarantees about the results they will achieve.
JupiterWeb operates four online networks: internet.com and EarthWeb.com for IT and business professionals; DevX.com for developers; and Graphics.com for creative professionals. JupiterWeb properties include more than 150 websites and over 150 email newsletters, which the company says are viewed by over 20 million users and generate over 350 million pageviews monthly.
