Jupiter: E-commerce Growth to Slow

On second thought...

Jupiter Research reports that the growth of e-commerce will slow in the next decade, reports MSNBC.

The study notes that those comfortable with shopping online will increase the amount they spend there.

Unfortunately, those not yet convinced of e-commerce's value aren't likely to change their minds in the next decade. These factors combined mean e-commerce will grow, but not at the clip it had since it first became a viable shopping alternative.

The report suggests retailers expand and improve online offerings with product descriptions and user-friendly checkout procedures to retain shoppers. Even if those online visitors don't make a purchase right away, a retailer's web presence is still valuable as a research tool.
