InterActiveCorp plans to further reduce paid search links on Ask Jeeves search results pages, reports ClickZ, citing IAC's chairman and CEO Barry Diller's comments during an earnings call: "It was very clear when we began our talks with Ask that there was a great opportunity to improve the consumer experience" - meaning the number of paid links shown with search results would be reduced. The move comes after this week's announcement of Ask Jeeves' auction-based PPC marketplace.
In April, Ask Jeeves reduced paid ads 31 percent(above the fold), in a move aiming to increase user retention and frequency of use. Thereafter, Ask Jeeves brought in $94 million in revenue for the quarter, compared with $94.9 million in the previous quarter, ClickZ reports.
