As part of Slate.com's initiative to offer advertisers new ways to reach the online magazine's audience, it has sold all display ads on the site for today to a single marketer, JC Penney, writes MediaPost (via MediaBuyerPlanner). The arrangement gives JC Penney banner ads on every Slate.com page, plus special ad section buttons at the bottom of navigational tabs. Every ad drives visitors to a holiday microsite, JCPGifts.com.
The deal ends at midnight today. Avenue A/Razorfish handled the buy.
