Permission-based email marketing firm JangoMail has introduced an SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) Relay feature, enabling email marketers to connect to its system via SMTP instead of using the JangoMail API — ideally increasing the likelihood of adoption.
The feature includes a reporting module for tracking email campaigns. The latter includes log files that confirm email delivery, open tracking and click tracking data, and DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) signing. The SMTP Relay is accessible by email marketers using Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird or other common desktop email clients to send transactional emails.
The company plans to launch a dedicated site for the SMTP service later in 2009.
Last year, JangoMail was audited and certified by Habeas Inc., an email reputation services firm that whitelists services that prioritizes opt-in email deliverability.
