Nielsen//NetRatings: 13 Million Kids Using the Internet Across Europe
The number of children online in Europe has grown by three million in the last 12 months, according to new research from Nielsen//NetRatings. There are now 13.1 million kids online with an overall European growth rate for children of 27 percent. Four million kids are under 12 years old, and nine million are 12-17 year olds. The leading country is Britain, with more than four million kids online, followed by Germany with three million. It's interesting to see that a small country like the Netherlands has almost as many kids online as France and Italy, and it actually surpasses the young online population of Spain.
