Presidential Candidates Get Personal via Email in September

Disaster relief, anyone?

As Q3 of FEC fundraising reporting draws to an end, presidential candidates are turning to email in last ditch efforts to boost their campaign war chests.

According to ClickZ, the campaign emails are getting casual, often employing "Re:" and "Fw:" in the subject line as if the message was sent from a friend.

And making contributions often won donors some face time with the candidate: From a chance to clean up Katrina with fair-haired Edwards, to lunch at Hill's house.

Democrats sent the most email between early September and October. Obama sent 28 through Oct. 3, Edwards sent 26, and Clinton sent 17.

Meanwhile, Republican Mitt Romney sent 16, Giuliani sent 11, and McCain sent 10.
