Just days after high-power advertisers pulled ads that were appearing on user-created Yahoo chat rooms being used to lure minors for sex, online audience auditor I/PRO has announced the release of BrandGuard Content Audit, a service to help advertisers protect their brands on the internet, DM News writes. Yahoo temporarily shut down all chat rooms last week after reports emerged of the shady dealings and several advertisers fled the scene.
I/PRO worked with ad networks to develop its new service, which offers an in-depth view of interactive content across portals, search engines, ad networks, chat rooms, websites, blogs, RSS feeds and instant messenger. I/PRO analysts review the audits.
MediaPost reports that BrandGuard will evaluate pages containing pornography, political extremism, gambling, spyware, and other offensive content - and will report how on total ad impressions on such pages. I/PRO CEO Allan Kaplan said I/PRO started developing the service early this year, after Kraft pulled search ads from Google because its AdSense ads showed up on a white supremacy site.
