TNS/CMR Press Release: First Half of 2003 Shows Continued Strong Growth for the Ad Market
The Internet, as well as five other media, experienced double digit growth in the first half of 2003. The Internet accounted for $3.2 billion of dollars spent during the first half of 2003, a 15.4 percent increase over the same time period last year.
TNS Media Intelligence/CMR reports overall ad spend has increased 6.8 percent to $61.6 billion for the first half of 2003. All media categories were up except for network television, which was down 0.4 percent to $10.35 billion.
One could conclude a recovery is underway. One could also wonder why this does not feel like a recovery.
