As video becomes more and more a part of the average online experience, the channels through which video gets served are being reorganized and redesigned, writes The Telegraph (U.K.).
Over the last few years, online video usage has spiked. It now exists in a variety of formats, from bite-sized chunks to longer-form shows. And the channels that serve that video range from iTunes and other services that allow downloading full shows… to YouTube, where many of the videos come from non-professionals.
Many of these channels, such as the recently launched Joost, seek to replicate the experience viewers are used to with TV.
Traditional TV stations and networks are also jockeying for position on the web as they add video and other new media features to their online presence.
