Internet Tax Ban Approved by House


The White House

The House of Representatives approved legislation 402-0 to extend a ban on state internet access taxes for another seven years.

The bill is headed to the White House where it's expected to be signed into law.

The state tax ban has been in place since 1998, according to Reuters, and were it to expire on Nov. 1, would force ISPs to raise prices by as much as 17 percent.
