Internet Broadcasting has signed a deal with Pluck that will bring more user-generated content to local TV station websites, reports MediaWeek.
The deal involves Pluck's SiteLife service and will allow visitors to create their own blogs, share photos and eventually upload their own videos to the station's site. One IB site for the NBC affiliate WXII-TV currently is testing the system and plans are to roll it out to 40 sites in the near future.
Pluck already provides user-generated content to sites run by Internet Broadcasting via BlogBurst, a blog syndication service.
LIN TV made a similar announcement to begin offering similar user-generated features on its station's websites through a deal with VMIX. Ten stations will be supplied with the tools by July. The rest will have them by September.
