Vista may look pretty, but
many are dissatisfied with
performance
Observing dissatisfaction among technologists and consumers since Vista's launch last year, InfoWorld has kicked off a petition to save Windows XP, Microsoft's former operating system, which will no longer be sold after June 30.
The petition has gathered over 100,000 names, and thousands of user comments on Infoworld's Save Windows XP blog.
At the heart of the campaign is the claim that Vista is not ready to be the standard platform for Windows users, and Microsoft should keep available Windows XP licenses.
Similar drives are in place in Canada in Germany. Microsoft has yet to renege on plans to drop XP, or even meet to discuss the matter with InfoWorld.
InfoWorld's Executive Editor Galen Gruman quipped, "Perhaps another 100,000 need to sign up and add their weight to this effort."
