  • Concluding a 20-year career, DDB Worldwide's Cleve Langton is leaving his position as Corporate Exec VP-Director of Business Development. Langton will continue to chair the global Effies committee and consult with Omnicom Group.
  • Mobile marketing and payments firm Mocapay appointed Kevin Grieve CEO.
  • NBC Universal promoted Vivi Zigler to president of its Digital Entertainment division.

Biz Buzz:

  • In its ongoing battle against mutiny, Yahoo filed a stockholder presentation with the SEC, elaborating upon its rejection of Microsoft's acquisition bid, defending its search deal with Google, and combatting Carl Icahn's attempts to displace the board.
  • Following the sale of its Personal Communications Division, UTStarcom has made Peter Blackmore its CEO and President.
  • Facing a hostile takeover bid by Belgium-based, Brazilian-run InBev, American company Anheuser-Bush cut its radio budget by $38 million. The impact left Clear Channel and Emmis reeling.

  • Rhapsody is selling DRM-free music on iLike, MTV Networks, Yahoo and Verizon.

  • MuseStorm launched a platform that enables users to market on iPhone. MuseStorm specializes in widgets and social networking apps.

New and Improved:

  • Yahoo7, an effort between Yahoo and Australia's Seven Network, is prepping for a comeback. New attempts at relevance shall include adding video and user features to the portal page, and bringing the Yahoo Yodel back in associated advertising. (You know the one: "Yahooooooo!")
