- Email marketing tech firm Silverpop is launching a drag-and-drop editor for clients' lead management programs.
Agencies and Marketing Execs:
- Founders and executive members of online affiliate network Hydra — including its former COO, CSO, CFO, EVP and VP — formed a new online ad firm, W4. Its first order of business will be to launch a performance-based affiliate ad network, focused on campaign efficiency, quality affiliates and transparency.
- Co-founder Chas Edwards of Federated Media is leaving for Digg — an FM publisher network member — where he will serve as publisher and CRO.
- Jeff Dossett is now CEO of AdventureLink. Previously, he oversaw the News, Sports and Finance sections at Yahoo's North American Audience.
Biz Buzz:
- In May, Amazon's homepage drove almost 45% of all visits to product pages for its Kindle e-reader; another 26% came from other Amazon subsections (banner text links, category navs, on-site search, etc.). Search engines, and email campaigns by Amazon, drove 6% and 5% of traffic, respectively.
- This summer, Dish will offer a set-top box embedded with Sling's features to its subscribers, which total 14 million nationwide. The so-clled SlingLoaded HD DVR ViP 922 will enable users to pipe their cable and satellite channels to the internet — and onto any computer or handheld.

- Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the two last members of the Beatles, appeared together at the E3 Expo in LA this week for the launch of Beatles Rock Band. This marks the first time any Beatles music has ever been licensed to a third party.

- A liaison with Verizon could boost iPhone sales by "at least 100% in units," claim Bernstein analysts Craig Moffett and Toni Sacconaghi in a Barron's report.

- E-book sales are expected to hit $9 billion by 2013.
- Niche women's publishing network Sugar Inc. is going into video, following news that it raised $16 million in a Series C round.
