Inc. Magazine's annual list profiling the 500 and 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in America is out.
Northern Capitol Insurance leads a list that includes companies from a host of industries ranging from advertising and financial services to health and software.
This year's list also breaks down the winners by revenue, number of employees, as well as other categories. Although, no one category is the sole criteria in determining list position.
Take revenue. The highest and lowest revenue-generating companies are both at the bottom of the list numerically.
Ad agency Neotrope lists $340,549 to food and beverage company Hy-Vee's $6.9 billion top figure.
Growth rate also does seem to relate to list position. No.1 Northern Capitol saw an astonishing growth rate of 19,812.2%, while IT services firm Nu Info Systems finished last in the category with only 2.6% growth.
The list debuted in 1981 as a ranking of the 100 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. and has now grown to include a total of 5,000.
