IDC: Spam Much Worse in 2004

CNET: Spam volume keeps rising

IDC, a research firm with one of the most conservative estimates of how much email turns out to be spam, said yesterday that the ratio of spam to email increased from one in four messages to two in five messages between 2003 and 2004. The firm said that gross email volume in 2003 exceeded one exabyte (a million terabytes) for the first time.
