Last week Yahoo appointed former Viacom CEO Frank Biondi and former Nextel CEO John Chapple to its board, satisfying the deal it made with investor Carl Icahn.
"Frank's extensive experience in the entertainment and media industries, combined with John's deep management experience in telecommunications, will provide valuable perspectives to our already diverse board," stated Chairman Roy Bostock.
Last month Icahn promised to stop trying to oust Yahoo's management if it agreed to put eight board members up for re-election. Two seats would go to any of a list of nine candidates handpicked by Icahn, and Icahn also joined the board.
Icahn Capital currently owns about four percent of Yahoo's public stock, totaling about 55 million shares. Much of it was purchased amidst Microsoft's continuously foiled attempts to buy Yahoo throughout the first half of 2008.
